Online learning to continue until July

Pupils will continue to learn online from June 13 until July 16 for group A states, and from June 14 to July 17 for group B states, says Education Minister Mohd Radzi Md Jidin. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, June 6, 2021.

TEACHING and Learning at Home (PdPR) will continue for 25 days after schools reopen on June 13 and 14 said Mohd Radzi Md Jidin.

The education minister said pupils will continue with the PdPR until the next school holiday begins on July 16 and July 17.

“They will all do PdPR from June 13 for Group A states till July 16, while Group B states who start school on June 14 will do PdPR until July 17,” he said during a live telecast on television today.

Group A are schools in states where the weekend begins on Fridays and Group B are schools in states where the weekend begins on Saturdays.

He said this arrangement also applies to private and international schools registered with the ministry.

Meanwhile, Radzi said that the school calendar for 2022 will be prepared after a thorough analysis of the country’s situation.

“The ministry will make the announcement on the calendar once the review is complete. We need to assess the situation in the country before coming up with the school calendar,” he added.

Malaysia is currently under a lockdown which was imposed on June 1 to June 14. 610,574 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded since the pandemic hit the country in early 2020.

Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said 82,341 infants and children had been infected with Covid-19 from January 2020 until May 30 this year. – June 6, 2021.
