THE QR codes have not been prepared for facilities and property management workers, who are thus advised not to attempt to access the CIMS 3.0 which will jam up the system.

The codes are required for the workers to apply for freedom of movement  during the lockdown.

Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said the codes were expected to be ready later today.

“We are informed that Miti is still preparing the QR codes for the facilities and property management sector,” she said, referring to the International Trade and Industry Ministry by its acronym.

“The Housing and Local Government  expects the codes to be ready by today. The ministry will announce when they are ready so that the relevant companies can apply.

“Until then, do not access the system as it will cause congestion,” Zuraida said in a statement.

CIMS 3.0 is the centralised online platform run by Miti for eligible industry sectors to apply for approval to open during periods of enforced shutdown.

Approvals for individual sectors are the purview of the relevant ministries. Essential services in the manufacturing and manufacturing-related sector are Miti’s.

QR codes for approval letters are introduced for the first time in the current lockdown to prevent forgery.

Police check the codes for authenticity at the roadblocks.

The CIMS 3.0 has been criticised by the public for its inaccessibility and inability to handle large volumes of  traffic as users rush to apply for the necessary permissions required during the lockdown which began yesterday. – June 2, 2021.
