SELANGOR’S SELangkah today denied allegations that it had made block bookings for the AstraZeneca vaccine during the recent opt-in exercise.
SELangkah CEO Tengku Iesta Tengku Alaudin, in a statement this evening, denied they were involved in any block bookings and warned it would take legal action against those making the false allegation.
He was responding to a statement by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) earlier which alleged it discovered mass third-party bookings for the AstraZeneca vaccine slots without obtaining the consent of the respective individuals.
This came to light after CITF received complaints from some individuals that they had received appointment dates for the AstraZeneca vaccine even though they did not make any bookings.
CITF further added that it had contacted SELangkah, which was among those who allegedly made the mass bookings.
Tengku Iesta, however, said CITF had never contacted them on this issue.
“SELangkah would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who spreads false allegations to tarnish its reputation,” he said.
On Wednesday, one million slots for the AstraZeneca vaccine opt-in for Malaysians aged 60 and below in Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sarawak and Penang were fully booked within 90 minutes.
On May 23, the application for the AstraZeneca vaccine was opened for senior citizens aged 60 and above. – May 28, 2021.
