THE Health Ministry has listed three possible scenarios which contributed to the rising number of brought-in-dead (BID) Covid-19 cases recently.

Between May 1 and May 26, a total of 93 BID cases were reported.

Sungai Buloh Hospital paediatrician Dr Siti Sarah Aishah Suhaidi said in a post shared on the ministry’s Facebook page that the first scenario is that of a patient who suffered from cough and fever, went to the clinic for regular treatment but did not do a Covid-19 test.

“A few days later the person was found dead at home,” she said.

The second scenario was that of a Covid-19 positive patient who succumbed to the virus before being transferred to the hospital or low-risk quarantine centre.

“(The person) tested positive for Covid-19. The private clinic (which did the test) had informed MOH,” she said.

The third scenario is that of a person losing their sense of taste and feeling fatigue.

However, the person did not take the symptoms seriously and had just rested at home.

“A few days later he was found dead,” she said.

She reminded people not to leave their homes unless they have to go to work or buy necessities, adding that those who have symptoms should get tested immediately. – May 28, 2021.
