THERE are still some who refuse to register their details or use the MySejahtera app before entering any premises, thus derailing the government’s efforts to reduce the spread of Covid-19, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The senior minister said in the past five days, the authorities recorded 941 cases of persons not registering upon entering premises.
“Registering using MySejahtera or by writing it down in a book is a must as it is used to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
“Certain quarters are still refusing or being ignorant by not registering themselves. In the last five days, 941 offences related to failing to register were recorded.
“The government hopes that this new norm (of registering) will be followed by all,” said Ismail Sabri today.
He explained that by registering, it allows the Health Ministry to track down an individual should there be a positive Covid-19 case.
He said that the authorities also found 767 cases of people not practising social distancing.
“It is hard to practise social distancing in crowded places but we must abide by the regulation set by the NSC,” he added.
Malaysia today recorded 7,857 new Covid-19 cases, surpassing its highest count of 7,478 yesterday.
This is the third consecutive day the daily tally has passed the 7,000 mark. – May 27, 2021.
