SEVERAL localities in four states, including two residential apartments in Kuala Lumpur, have been placed under the enhanced movement-control order (EMCO) from May 28 to June 10.
Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the order was issued after the involved localities recorded a significant increase in new Covid-19 cases.
The affected areas are Parit Buntar in Perak; Taman Dato’ Tengku Paris, Felda Tersang 1,2 & 3 and Mukim Batu Talam in Raub, Pahang; and Bangau and Perak districts in Temerloh, Pahang.
In Kuala Lumpur, the affected areas are Pangsapuri Permai (all blocks) and Pangsapuri Sri Penara (Blocks C & D) in Cheras.
And in Sabah, four villages in Kunak, namely Kg Kabog, Kg Kabog Baru, Kg Kunak Darat and Kg Kunak 3; along with Kg Pirasan Ulu in Kota Belud; and four villages in Tawau – Kampung Sungai Pukul, Pulau Sebatik, Taman Desa Ranggu and Taman Sawit Balung, will also be placed under EMCO.
“All localities are going to be under EMCO from May 28 to June 10,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the government has also agreed to extend the EMCO at Rumah Awam Kos Rendah (RAKR) Pelagat 3, Besut, Terengganu from May 28 to June 4.
“The EMCO at Rumah Awam Kos Rendah (RAKR) Pelagat 3 was supposed to end on May 27.
“But we detected new cases and the infectivity rate is still high in the area. Out of 313 tests, 42 people have tested positive,” he said.
Ismail Sabri also announced the end of EMCO at the workers’ hostel in Lombong Sg Batu, Batu Talam, Raub, Pahang.
“Out of 51 tests, 21 positive cases were found. The trend is under control and all positive cases receiving treatment,” he added. – May 26, 2021.
