Record high of 7,478 new Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA recorded 7,478 new Covid-19 cases today, surpassing its highest count of 7,289 from yesterday, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. 

Noor Hisham said the fresh cases bring the national caseload to 533,367.

This is the second day the daily tally has passed the 7,000 mark.

Selangor is highest with 2,455 cases, followed by Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur with 640 and 760 cases respectively.

Noor Hisham said out of the fresh cases today, only five were imported cases.

He said there are now 66,206 active cases in the country.

There were 587 new cases in Johor, 542 in Kedah, 420 in Penang, 370 in Negeri Sembilan, 264 in Perak, 229 in Sabah, 177 in Terengganu, 230 in Malacca, 171 in Pahang, 29 in Putrajaya, 49 in Labuan and eight in Perlis. – May 26, 2021.
