MALAYSIA reported 4,140 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, with Selangor once again leading the daily tally.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the fresh cases have taken the national caseload to 466,330.

Selangor was in the lead with 1,507 cases, followed by Johor and Kuala Lumpur with 433 and 398 infections respectively.

Only nine of today’s cases were imported while the remaining came from local transmission.

Active cases, meanwhile, continue on an uptrend, rising to 42,135 from yesterday’s 41,471.

On recoveries, he said 3,432 people had recovered from  Covid-19, taking the cumulative total of recoveries to 422,329. – May 15, 2021.
