RM10,000 reward for any information on Ganapathy, says lawyer

There is a RM10,000 reward for anyone who has information on the death of A. Ganapathy, says his lawyer Ganesh Kanagaretnam. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 2, 2021.

ANYONE with any Information regarding the untimely death of police suspect Ganapathy Anpalagan, 40, will be rewarded RM10,000, said family lawyer Ganesh Kanagaretnam.

“The donor for the cash wants to remain anonymous as he was once faced with police brutality.

“Those with information can either contact me (+6013 324 3354) or the investigating officer, leading,” said the lawyer today at Ganapathy’s funeral prayers.  

Ganesh said he was told by a forensics doctor that if Ganapathy was brought in for treatment earlier, he would have survived.

He also said that there was another man known as Shan that the police brought in along with Ganapathy, and that there has been no news on him since.

Batu MP Prabakaran and Rawang assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat were present at the prayers.

Ganapathy died while having treatment at Selayang Hospital after he was sent there from police custody.

He was arrested on February 24 to assist in investigations into his sibling’s alleged crimes. He was said to have spent 12 days in police custody from February 24 to March 8 before being admitted to the hospital.

He succumbed to his injuries on April 18 after spending over a month at the hospital’s intensive care unit. – May 2, 2021.
