PKR will accept the decisions made by Pakatan’s presidential council, said PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

I urge my friends to focus on the principles of the struggle we started a decade ago,” said the Pakatan adviser.

“This is the main point that must be explained to Malaysians. In the spirit of cooperation and working together, we accept the decisions of the leadership,” Anwar said during Pakatan’s second convention in Shah Alam today.

As Anwar is still in jail, his speech was read out by PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar after speeches by Pakatan’s three deputy presidents – Muhyiddin Yassin, Mohamad Sabu and Lim Guan Eng.

“Pakatan has managed to combat negative press reports from Barisan Nasional, which expected our negotiations to fail. They are not so bright,” said Anwar.

Anwar said their agreement did not mean an end to their demands for reforms in the system.

“As such, let us move forward by rejecting corruption by the government. I am confident that we can carve a new era after the 14th general election.”
