Mara starts probe into sexual harassment claims

MAJLIS Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has begun an internal investigation into an alleged sexual harassment case involving a Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) student.

Its chairman, Azizah Mohd Dun, said in a statement today that Mara takes the allegations seriously and will not compromise on any wrongdoing involving its employees, especially if it concerns the safety of students at Mara educational institutions.

“Stern action will be taken against those who are found to be involved, according to the stipulated rules, to ensure a conducive and safe learning environment, free of sexual harassment and exploitation of women and children,” she said.

“Mara will cooperate fully with the authorities to ensure the image and credibility of its educational institutes are preserved.” – Bernama, April 22, 2021.
