THE health authorities have identified nine new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, which reported 190 cases thus far, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said of the nine clusters, four were linked to workplaces, three were community-based, one was religious-based and one at a detention centre.
Kuala Lumpur and Sabah reported two clusters each while Putrajaya, Sarawak, Malacca, Negri Sembilan and Johor reported one each.
Noor Hisham said the Jalan Puncak Borneo workplace cluster detected at a training centre in Kuching, Sarawak, reported the most cases with 61 testing positive.
The Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Hishamudin workplace clusters were traced in Kuala Lumpur with 20 and nine cases respectively.
Jalan Wawasan, the final workplace cluster, detected at a public administration centre in Putrajaya, reported 11 cases.
Of the three community-based infections, two clusters were detected in Sabah and one in Malacca.
Noor Hisham said the Kampung Gayang cluster in Tuaran caused by a social event contributed 23 cases while the Tabanak cluster in Lahad Datu reported 15 cases.
The Taman Malim Jaya cluster detected in the districts of Malacca Tengah and Jasin in Malacca reported 13 positive cases.
In Negri Sembilan, the Jalan Bukit Belida cluster in Seremban, linked to a religious centre, reported 15 positive cases.
Noor Hisham said the Jalan Salleh cluster, traced at a detention centre in Muar, Johor, had 23 people testing positive for Covid-19.
The nine new clusters reported today bring the total virus groupings in the country to 1,478, of which 344 are still active, where 62 are actively reporting new cases.
Clusters reporting a high number of cases today are Persiaran Cybersouth construction site with 137 cases, followed by the newly traced Jalan Puncak Borneo (60 cases) and Jalan Bambangan (47 cases).
