Ten new clusters, one linked to gathering

THE Ministry of Health reported 10 new Covid-19 clusters today, one of which was linked to a social gathering.

Director-general of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said eight clusters are now inactive, meaning there are currently 345 active clusters nationwide.

Noor Hisham said the Jalan Canning Estate cluster of 39 cases was reported in Kinta, Perak, and stemmed from a social gathering was classified as one of the three community transmission clusters reported today.

The Paya Pulai cluster (10 cases) in Temerloh, Pahang and the Kabu cluster (21 cases) in Kedah were the two other community clusters reported today.

Noor Hisham said the two clusters were linked to symptomatic index patients, while the remaining seven clusters were linked to workplaces, two of which were reported in Pahang.

Selangor, Johor, Kelantan, Terengganu and Putrajaya reported one workplace cluster each.

The clusters were detected at factories, service companies, a fitness centre and a public administration building.

Noor Hisham also announced the end of the following clusters: Batu Tiga Lama, Jambatan Satu Bombalai, Bukit Bayas, Jalan Distripark B6, Jalan DPB Enam, Lorong Murni, Perusahaan Amari, and Meranti Utama. – April 12, 2021.
