POLICE will take action against those who use fake authorisation letters for inter-state travel, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He warned Malaysians not to buy such documents.

“Police will take action against those with false documents,” Ismail Sabri said at a press conference at Royale Chulan Hotel in Damansara, Petaling Jaya, today.

“If you need to travel, then go and get proper authorisation letters from the police at the station or beat base.”

Ismail Sabri was commenting on blank cross-state forms allegedly belonging to the Shah Alam Section 6 police station that were confirmed to have forged signatures.

Shah Alam district deputy police chief Supt Ramsay Anak Embol has said initial investigations revealed that the signature of the assistant police chief of the Section 6 station was forged.

Ismail Sabri also said the authorities will take action against police stations that are found to be issuing the fake documents.

“How can a blank letter be issued with a police stamp? This is against police procedure.” – April 9, 2021.
