FOUR new clusters were detected by health authorities in the past 24 hours, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said the four clusters were in Selangor, Penang, Pahang and Johor, with three linked to workplaces and one in the community.
The Jalan Taming cluster was detected at a factory in the Petaling and Hulu Langat districts in Selangor.
Positive cases were reported from this cluster after targeted workplace screening of employees.
As many as 19 individuals tested positive from this cluster.
The second factory cluster is the Industry Perai Tiga cluster in Penang, involving the districts of Central and Northern Seberang Pera, as well as northeast on the island.
Sixty-six cases have been reported after targeted screening at the factory on April 3. As many as 205 individuals were screened for Covid-19.
The third factory cluster is the Industry Parit Raja in Batu Pahat, Johor, where 38 positive cases were detected after targeted screening on April 8.
As many 456 individuals were screened for this cluster.
Meanwhile, the Padang Manggis cluster, involves the Pekan and Kuantan districts in Pahang.
The index case is a symptomatic individual who lives in Kg Padang Manggis, who was found positive on April 2.
Ten positive cases have been detected so far, with 67 screened from this cluster.
The country has recorded a total of 1,435 clusters since the onset of the pandemic, with 348 still active. – April 8, 2021.
