Muhyiddin says Sarawak, Sabah are regions in Malaysia, not states

Sabah and Sarawak are not states, but regions, as stated in the Malaysia Agreement 1963, says Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, promising to make necessary amendments to Article 160 on the definition of the word ‘federation’. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Kamal Ariffin, April 1, 2021.

PRIME Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today referred to Sarawak and Sabah as ‘regions in Malaysia’ instead of states.

“They are not states (in Malaysia). They are regions as in the MA63 (Malaysia Agreement 1963), which I recognise,” he said in a townhall meeting in Kuching this afternoon.
