Umno adopts resolution to end ties with Bersatu in GE15

THE Umno 2020 General Assembly has unanimously agreed to end cooperation with Bersatu in the coming elections.

According to the resolution, tweeted by secretary-general Ahmad Maslan, the delegates accepted the resolution proposed by the Umno Supreme Council dated February 19.

“Further, Umno is to maintain the Perikatan Nasional government until Parliament is dissolved,” said the statement.

The General Assembly also agreed that fresh elections should be called immediately to ensure a more stable government.

“And that Umno will use the Barisan Nasional logo in the 15th general election.

“Umno, however, will also defend the Muafakat Nasional charter that was signed with PAS on September 14, 2019,” said the statement. – March 28, 2021.
