PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) put the brakes on Undi18 and automatic voter registration as they fear they could lose at the 15th general election, said Najib Razak.

“That seems to be the most prevalent opinion,” said the former prime minister on the sidelines of the 2020 Umno General Assembly in PWTC today.

Najib was responding to a question on whether the government has decided to only implement Undi18 and automatic voter registration after September 2022.

On the same issue, Najib noted that the government’s decision to delay Undi18 was “dissapointing”.

“Many youths were hoping and waiting to vote and will be disappointed that they cannot vote.

“It’s unfortunate as Undi18 and automatic voter registration were passed by all parties. Although Pakatan Harapan was the government, Barisan Nasional had also agreed on this.

“And Parliament is supreme,” said the Pekan MP. – March 27, 2021.
