MALAYSIA today reported 1,360 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the nation’s cumulative total to 338,168 cases, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The director-general of health said that Selangor was the state with most infections with 356 cases.
He said Sarawak was next in line with 308 cases, while Johor recorded the third most cases today with 129 cases.
Perlis once again did not report any fresh cases.
Selangor also has the most cumulative cases with 113,780, followed by Sabah with 54,470 and Johor with 40,525.
Noor Hisham said recoveries outpaced new cases today with 1,491 people discharged from hospitals.
He said this brings down the number of active cases to 14,504, where 157 of them are admitted to Intensive Care Unit and 72 of them require respiratory support.
Noor Hisham said there were two deaths reported today, taking the death toll to 1,248.
The victims, a male and a female, were above the age of 70 and both died at Sibu Hospital
