Police nab drunk woman who rammed into 2 bikes

A 52-year-old woman was arrested today to facilitate investigations into an incident where two motorcycles by the roadside in Taman Bukit Mulia, Bukit Antarabangsa were rammed into yesterday.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the woman who was suspected to be driving under the influence of alcohol during the incident was detained around noon after surrendering herself at the Pandan Indah police station.

Farouk said during the incident, the riders of a Harley Davidson and Yamaha Avantis had stopped their motorcycles by the roadside to check on one of their bikes.

“The driver, however, did not stop and sped off,” he said in a statement today.

Farouk said police managed to track the woman down by checking her car registration number.

Today, a one-minute video of a woman fleeing with her vehicle after allegedly ramming into two motorcycles went viral.

In the video, the woman admitted to driving while drunk. – Bernama, March 16, 2021.
