Kuching village locked down

A VILLAGE near Kuching, Sarawak, has been placed under the enhanced movement control order after recording a high number of Covid-19 cases.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Kg Tringgus, Bau, will be on lockdown until March 21, after health officials recorded 37 cases from 596 tests.

“There is a significant increase in cases at the locality and following a risk assessment, we agreed to impose EMCO on Kampung Tringgus Bau in Kuching,” he said in a statement today.

Ismail Sabri said the EMCO in the EMCO will start from midnight.

He said the EMCO on Kg Tanah Merah, Kota Marudu, Sabah, has been extended to March 22. 

“We conducted 319 tests and found 26 cases while 181 samples are still being tested,” he said.

 Ismail Sabri said the EMCO on Kampung Emperoh Jambu, Padawan, Kuching has ended. – March 7, 2021.
