MB did not instruct us to quit, says Iskandar Samad

SELANGOR exco from Islamist party PAS Iskandar Samad today denied that the PAS excos had been asked to quit their posts in the state government following his party’s decision to end ties with PKR earlier this week.

He was responding to a news report on the front page of The Star today, saying that Selangor Mentri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali had asked PAS excos to resign yesterday.

“There was no instruction. I did not get any instructions,” he said.

He said yesterday’s meeting with Azmin was “all good”.

Iskandar was speaking to media after attending the State Assemblies and Parliament speakers conference in Shah Alam this morning.

He and two other excos along with Selangor PAS commissioner Sallehan Mukhyi met Azmin yesterday to explain the decision made by PAS’ Syura Council a day earlier.

Azmin told media later that he was frustrated with PAS’ decision to cut ties with PKR and he would have to discuss with PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail before deciding on the next course of action. – May 13, 2017.
