KG Serumah Daerah Kecil Siburan in Serian, Sarawak will be placed under the enhanced movement-control order (EMCO) for two weeks beginning tomorrow, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said there have been a significant number of new infections in the village.
“Until March 5, 416 tests were conducted and 21 positive cases were recorded.
“The area will now be put under EMCO from March 7 to March 20,” he said.
Ismail Sabri also announced the end of EMCO at the Central Medicare hostel, factory and construction site in Hilir Perak, Perak.
He said the decision was reached after a drop in the number of new cases.
“Starting tomorrow, March 7, the EMCO at the Central Medicare hostel, factory and construction site is lifted,” he said in a statement.
Previously, 2,074 people were screened and 1,650 infections were recorded. – March 6, 2021.
