PKR PRESIDENT Anwar Ibrahim is insisting Perikatan Nasional still does not have a parliamentary majority even with the support of two of his party’s MPs.

Malaysiakini reported the opposition leader saying that PN is still a minority government.

“Their numbers are far lower compared with ours,” he was quoted telling media in his constituency, Port Dickson, in Negri Sembilan today.

Anwar said the opposition still had the majority, despite Julau MP Larry Sng’s and Tebrau MP Steven Choong’s departure from PKR.

Both signed statutory declarations declaring their support for PN and handed the documents to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on Sunday.

They replace the support withdrawn by Umno’s Padang Rengas MP Nazri Aziz and Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, who declared their stand in January.

Parliament has 222 seats but only 220 are currently filled due to the deaths of the Batu Sapi and Gerik incumbents.

When the Dewan Rakyat vote on Budget 2021 in December, it was passed with 111 votes. – March 2, 2021.
