THE number of patients who recovered from Covid-19 outnumbered new cases after 2,486 people were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
This brings the total number of recoveries from the virus to 275,903.
Noor Hisham said in a statement today that 1,828 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
The fresh cases have brought the nation’s Covid-19 caseload to 302,580.
Johor led the daily tally with 490 cases, followed by Selangor with 453, and Sarawak at 220.
Active cases, on the other hand, stood at 25,542.
Five fatalities were also reported, taking the death toll to 1,135.
Meanwhile, 198 people are currently warded at intensive care units (ICUs), 90 of whom require respiratory support. – March 1, 2021.
