TEN new clusters were detected over a period of 24 hours, eight of them linked to the workplace, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today.
He said the two non-workplace-related clusters occurred within the community in Kelantan and Perak.
The other eight clusters in Selangor, Johor, Sabah and Penang reported a total of 238 cases.
Meanwhile, 91 existing clusters reported rising cases.
Clusters that logged the most new cases today were Jalan Changkat Jong (474), Simpang Tiga Muar (55) and Tembok Tapah (54).
The workplace clusters were discovered at offices, factories and construction sites following targeted screening of workers.
The Perak community cluster in Manjung, meanwhile, was found after the index case tested positive for the virus on February 17 after showing symptoms of infection.
So far, 43 people have been screened in connection with the cluster, 11 of their results were positive.
The second community cluster in Kuala Krai and Machang in Kelantan was detected as a result of close contact screening of the index case on February 17
As of today, 108 people linked to the cluster have been screened. Twenty-nine have been found to be infected. – February 26, 2021.
