Nine Temerloh areas locked down

NINE areas in Temerloh, Pahang, have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) following a drastic spike in Covid-19 cases, said Senior Ministry Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the Health Ministry found a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases among residents of  Jalan Telok Ira in Temerloh, Pahang, said Ismail Sabri.

“To date, 72 Covid-19 cases have been reported involving residents living in this housing area.

“The EMCO will start tomorrow and end on March 6,” he said in a statement today.

The EMCO will involve these areas: Taman Desa Bangau,Taman Seberang Damai, Taman Kenari, Taman Seberang Temerloh, Taman Jaya 76. Taman Jaya 2,  Taman Jaya 3, Taman Jaya 4,  Taman Kelisa and Desa Bangau.

Ismail Sabri said 461 people were arrested for flouting the MCO yesterday and from this number, 430 were issued with compounds and 31 remanded.

The offences involved cross-district/state travel without permission (135), lack of physical distancing (128), failing to provide tools for recording customer particulars (72) not wearing a mask (67), premises operating beyond permitted hours or without permission (17), among others.

Ismail Sabri said 11 illegal immigrants were detained, and eight land vehicle seized. – February 20, 2021.
