POLICE will be calling Annuar Musa as part of a probe over an alleged violation of movement-control order regulations by the Federal Territories Minister.

KL police chief Saiful Azly Kamaruddin told The Malaysian Insight that a police report was lodged and an investigation paper has been opened.

“We will call him to have his statement recorded and to complete the investigation,” said Saiful without elaborating further.

Annuar was accused of violating MCO regulations by eating at the same table with six others when the SOP clearly allows for only two people.

Annuar, who is Ketereh MP, had attended an urban farming programme on Friday.

In his defence, Annuar said on Facebook that he was there only for a short period of time.

“When I was at the event, I sat down for a moment and moved because the organiser did not follow SOP.

DAP lawmaker Lim Lip Eng today urged Annuar to apologise and pay a fine for allegedly breaching the SOP.

“I give him 24 hours to apologise for his action. Stern legal action must be taken against him, just like what everybody else is experiencing.

“If there is no response from him regarding this, I will lodge a police report and I will push for reasonable action to be taken against him,” Lim said in a statement today.

Umno’s Puad Zarkashi also criticised Annuar and had asked the former Umno secretary-general to stop giving excuses.

“The culture of not wanting to admit any wrongdoing is the culture of giving excuses. There will always be an excuse for not wanting to admit guilt.

“Annuar is accused of violating the MCO for eating at the same table with six others when the SOP allows two people.

“He gave an excuse that he was sitting momentarily before leaving the event. If you know the organiser was not following the SOP, then why did you sit there? Where is the logic?” asked the former Special Affairs Department chief.

This was not the first time Annuar was accused of breaching SOP.

Last month, Annuar allegedly flouted SOP when he was photographed walking with two other people without wearing a mask.

Annuar said that he met his two friends by coincidence after an evening jog. – February 14, 2021.

    • If he has any 'maruah melayu' left and 'nilai diri' he should resign. No 2 ways about it.

  • I wonder how long is this investigation going to take. First of all why investigate when there is so clear Proof. Just haul him in and Fine him and charge him for Violating the MCO.

  • Why call him to make a statement. Just slap the fine on him like others. PDRM don't switch your role when it suits you to be Polis Raja Di Malaysia.
