ALL shops will be allowed to operate until 10pm from tomorrow, said senior minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said pharmacies, vets, convenience stores and optical shops are among the retail businesses that can operate until 10pm.
This ruling was previously applicable to only eateries and food delivery.
Ismail Sabri said this new move was decided after discussions with the Ministry of Health.
The earlier directive to allow eateries to open until 10pm, instead of 8pm, posed problems to outlets located in shopping malls, which had to close at 8pm.
He said the revised closing time for shops will now allow all outlets in malls to close at the same time.
Other sectors allowed to resume operations tomorrow are forestry, timber, logging, and their “related sectors”, he added. – January 28, 2021.
