Record number of 314 Covid-19 patients in intensive care

THE number of patients admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for Covid-19 treatment reached an all-time high today with 314.

According to the Health Ministry’s data, of the 314 patients admitted to the ICU, 122 required ventilator support.

Since the start of the year, Malaysia has gone on to record 81,104 cases to date.

The nation has also reported 236 deaths since the beginning of this year. This is more than half of what the nation recorded throughout 2020.

Malaysia reported 471 deaths in the year 2020.

Today, with 3,680 new Covid-19 cases, Malaysia has gone to record more than 3,000 daily cases for the 14th consecutive day.

Johor reported the highest cases by state today with 1,069 cases, followed by Selangor with 822 cases, while Kuala Lumpur reported 698 cases.

On overall cases by state, Selangor still topped the list with 57,486 cases, followed by Sabah with 47, 737 and Kuala Lumpur with 22,973. – January 27, 2021.
