EC starts 1st redelineation hearing in Selangor

The Election Commission is holding a public hearing during the Christmas-New Year week in Selangor but the decision has been described as an attempt to push through the redelineation exercise for the 14th general election. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, December 27, 2017.

AFTER months of being stalled, the Election Commission will resume its controversial redrawing of election boundaries in Selangor today – an exercise that signal the 14th general election is imminent.

The first public hearing for Selangor will be done for the Kelana Jaya parliamentary seat where the EC is expected to hear objections from voters on the proposed new boundaries.
