THE Finance Ministry has extended the sales tax exemption for locally assembled (complete knock down) passenger vehicles until June 30, Free Malaysia Today reported.
A 50% discount on the 10% sales tax on fully imported (complete built-up) vehicles is also extended for the same period, said the report citing a government circular.
The waivers were to have ended on Friday.
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced the waivers to drive demand in June as part of the Penjana economic stimulus package. – December 29, 2020.
