CELEBRITY preacher and philanthropist Ebit Lew has come to the rescue of a family in Penang that have been living in their car for the past eight months with three kids, one of which is an eight-month-old baby.

In a Facebook post, Ebit said he heard the news yesterday and made preparations to help them out.

It was reported that Ganesh, 33 and his wife Parameswari, 32, lost their house in a fire in May, which has left them with no choice but to live in their car.

Ganesh and his family have been unable to rent a room or house due to most agents asking for high deposits.

“Their story made me sob, seeing them as a family along with an eight-month-old baby living in a proton saga and showering at public toilets,” said Ebit in his post.

Ebit said he has rented a three-bedroom house for them for a month until they get their public housing application approved, which they have requested twice.

“I will pay for their rent for the next one month, but if their application does not get approved, I will continue to pay for the rent happily,” he said.

Ebit gifted them a fridge, a washing machine, a television set, a rice cooker, beds, kitchen necessities and some allowance.

“Ganesh and his wife are such a nice couple,” he said. – December 25, 2020.
