PAS has dismissed claims that some of its state assemblymen and leaders in Selangor will join PKR as rumours.
The party’s vice-president, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said the rumours were created to undermine PAS’ preparations for the 14th general election, expected to take place in a few months’ time.
He said the claims were aimed at creating anxiety among PAS members to make them lose focus.
“I have spoken with Selangor PAS assemblymen, and they are very surprised by the rumours,” he said in a statement today.
It was reported that the Selangor PKR election machinery had been asked to accept an influx of PAS leaders and members, which would allow them to contest on the party’s ticket in GE14.
“Any news that is speculative in nature should be ignored. They (PAS members) should not be trapped by an enemy strategy that seeks to paralyse their preparations for GE14.
“The enemies want PAS leaders and members to be suspicious of one another.” – Bernama, December 23, 2017.
