THREE out of five new Covid-19 clusters identified today are related to workplaces, said Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said a total of 116 Covid-19 positive cases have been detected in the three clusters.
The first workplace cluster, a construction site, is named as the Jalan Zuhrah construction cluster, involving the Petaling district in Selangor.
A total of 450 people has been screened in this cluster as of today and of them, 49 have tested positive for Covid-19.
The second workplace cluster is Keris Residence and it involves the Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran districts in Sabah.
A total of 41 individuals were found to be positive from 65 screened.
The third and final workplace cluster is Jalan Timah, which involves the Johor Baru and Kulai districts in Johor.
Twenty-six people have tested positive out of 238 individuals screened.
A fourth cluster reported is known as Brumas and it involves the Kalabakan district in Sabah.
As of today, 89 people have been screened for Covid-19 and 16 positive cases were detected in this cluster.
The fifth and final cluster reported today is Long Panji, detected in the Kota Baru and Machang districts in Kelantan.
Eleven Covid-19 cases have been reported here from a total of 202 screened.
The five new clusters today bring the total number of clusters in the country to 440, of which 199 are active.
Fourty-one of the active clusters reported new cases today.
Three clusters ended today, bringing the total number of clusters that are inactive to 241.
The three are the Softwood LD cluster in Sabah, Besi Demak cluster in Sarawak and Rajawali cluster in Penang. β December 19, 2020.
