PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang today had an audience with Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah of Perak at Istana Kinta, Ipoh.

The car ferrying the Marang MP arrived at 10.50am.

Hadi was granted the audience after he wrote to the palace on December 10 to seek an audience to update the sultan on political developments involving PAS.

On Friday, Perak PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria apologised to Sultan Nazrin over a mistake by three Perak PAS assemblymen for not showing up for an audience after they were summoned to do so on December 8.

Besides Razman, who is also Gunung Semanggol assemblyman, the other two were Mohd Akmal Kamarudin (Selama) and Mohd Khalil Yahaya (Kubu Gajah).

Perak was plunged into a political crisis after its Ahmad Faizal Azumu lost a motion of confidence on December 4. He resigned as the menteri besar the next day.

Subsequently, Kota Tampan assemblyman Saarani Mohamad from Barisan Nasional was sworn in as the 14th menteri besar on December 10.

Saarani is also Perak Umno chairman.

Razman and Akmal were excos under Faizal.

Saarani appointed five assemblymen in his initial new exco line-up, four from Umno and one from Bersatu, but none from PAS.

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said Hadi was grateful for the audience granted by Sultan Nazrin and for the concern and wisdom expressed to him.

Hadi did not speak to reporters after the 40-minute audience. β€“ Bernama, December 15, 2020.
