Isa dodges the media at KLIA

FORMER Felda chairman Isa Samad, who is subject to a number of corruption probes, avoided the press at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport last night, the New Straits Times reports today. 

Isa used a different exit from the airport’s VIP lounge and left the building about 11pm.

The media gathered at KLIA yesterday to get Isa’s comments on the transfer of a piece of prime land to a private company in 2015 during his tenure.

Yesterday, Berita Harian reported that Felda risks losing the land in Jalan Semarak, estimated to be worth more than RM270 million, in the heart of the capital.

Seven towers, including Felda’s iconic development, Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC), are supposed to be built on the Jalan Semarak land.

Approval has been granted to build Menara Felda, comprising a 68-storey office building, covering 59 floors of office space, parking area, a roof top garden and a helipad, according to reports.

Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC) appointed Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd on June 3, 2014, granting it full power of attorney to develop KLVC.

However, new Felda chairman Shahrir Samad said yesterday Felda has lodged a police report over the land transfer after finding elements of fraud. 

It has also obtained a private caveat on the land to prevent any further dealing on the piece of real estate.

Synergy Promenade sold the land for RM270 million while Felda did not receive a sen. – December 22, 2017.

  • The real question why Shahrir has not taken action sooner and faster since he knew when he started? Like Lembu Official 1, Shahrir, there was no will to really prosecute. The orange jumpsuit only for show.

  • Shahrir appointed in January and knew this then. How come MACC not called in then? From the start, like Lembu Official One, it's all a show with Felda Official 1. Even now, how hard to prove CBT? Who signed power of attorney?

  • On what grounds did FELDA entered the caveat? Shahrir should be making some wayang? Is the POWER OF ATTORNEY ILLEGAL? IS ISA AKA AS MO NO.1 BEEN CONED OR HE CONED FELDA?
