I AM the breadwinner for a family of four. Since the Covid-19 epidemic struck and the MCO was enforced, things have gone downhill at my workplace where we have all had to take a huge pay cut.
Despite the pay cut, I am thankful I still have a job as I know thousands have lost theirs in these difficult times.
However, the reduced pay has made it difficult for my family and we have found it hard to manage even one good meal a day.
There are still so many bills to pay and if not for the recent loan moratorium, I am sure my car would have been repossessed.
I am writing this is to say thank you to the government, especially the prime minister, for consenting to our pleas to withdraw from our EPF accounts.
I understand EPF savings are for our old age, but we need the money badly now and I am grateful to the government for allowing withdrawals via i-Sinar.
I will be able to withdraw about RM30,000 which will certainly help to put the household finances back on track.
We will be able to settle all outstanding bills and have money left to meet expenses in the coming year.
To some, RM30,000 may not be much but to us, the sum will help see us though all of next year.
Once again, a heartfelt thank you to Muhyiddin for not turning a deaf ear to the people. – December 4, 2020.
