THE conditional movement control order (CMCO) for Kuching is lifted today as scheduled, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the health authorities had confirmed that the number of active cases in the district was under control and on a downward trend.
“On the advice of the Ministry of Health, today’s meeting with the National Security Council agreed to end CMCO in Kuching as scheduled,” he said
The CMCO for Kuching came into effect on November 9 and was due to end November 22. It was however extended until November 27 because there were still 58 active cases of coronavirus in the district at the time.
Sarawak logged four new cases in the Kuching district yesterday, all of which were imported.
The state’s caseload stands 1,062.
Yesterday, Malaysia reported 935 new infections for a total 60,752 cases since the onset of the epidemic. – November 27, 2020.
