TONGKANG Pecah in Batu Pahat, Johor will be placed under the conditional movement-control order (CMCO) starting Sunday, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said this was decided by the National Security Council on the advice of the Health Ministry.

“The CMCO will start on November 29 until December 13 while the health authorities wait for 302 Covid-19 test results,” he said.

As many 16,300 residents will be affected by this order, Ismail Sabri added.

“Areas to come under movement curbs are rows seven to 10 of Bandar Putera Indah, Batu 7 and Kg Mohd Nor,” he said.

The implementation of CMCO is to enable health authorities to implement targeted screening and to reduce movement among the communities in this area, Ismail Sabri said.

The same standard operating procedure (SOP) announced in other partially locked-down areas applies here, and residents can seek for more information the NSC’s website.

Meanwhile, the daily market operating hours will be extended from 10am to 4pm effective tomorrow.

Ismail Sabri said after requests from sellers to extend the operating hours, the NSC decided to allow it, as long as People’s Volunteer Corp personnel are placed at each market to ensure customers and sellers comply with the SOP.

Yesterday, the country reported 935 new Covid-19 cases.

The new infections raised the country’s caseload to 60,752 since the onset of the pandemic. – November 27, 2020.
