3 new clusters detected, but 2 have ended

THREE new Covid-19 clusters have been identified today, brining the total number of  groups of related infections to 327.

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 168 clusters are still active.  

Today’s new clusters were reported in Selangor, Johor and Labuan. 

The first is the Penjara Jalan Harapan cluster in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, where 17 out of 113 people screened have tested positive for the virus. 

The second is the Kota Kecil cluster in Kota Tinggi, Johor. 

A total of 467 people have been screened and to date, nine have tested positive. 

All have been admitted to the Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang. 

The final cluster detected is Sky Coklat in Labuan. 

As of today, from 51 people screened, seven have tested positive and all have been sent to Labuan Hospital. 

Noor Hisham said that the Teratai cluster, which involves a glove company in Selangor contributed to 298 cases today. 

The Hentian cluster, which originated from the Kajang bus station in Selangor, recorded 79 new cases and the Tapak Bina Damanlela cluster linked to a construction site in Kuala Lumpur reported 43 cases, he said.

Besides this, two clusters have ended today. They are Bah Kayu (Selangor) and Lekir cluster (Perak). 

The total number of clusters ended as of today is 159. – November 21, 2020.
