TO revive domestic tourism, Putrajaya has approved the green travel bubble programme, which allows individuals from green zones to visit other zones marked green, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Senior Minister said the decision was made after studying the current scenario of the tourism industry.

“We are aware that the domestic travel industry has been hit really badly by the pandemic. So we decided to allow the green travel bubble programme to start on November 22 (Sunday),” said Ismail Sabri.

Under the programme, Ismail Sabri said those in the recovery movement-control order (RMCO) zones can travel inter-district without needing a police permit.

He then said interstate travel from one green zone to another can also be performed under the green bubble travel programme.

“In Pahang, for example, you can travel to Terengganu because both states are now green zone areas.

“If you are from Pahang and need to go to Johor, you need a permit, because you will have to go pass red zone areas. Only if you have to go past a red zone, you need police permission.

“You cannot stop at a red zone and must head straight to your destination unless you are in a travel bus. If you are in a travel bus, you do not need a police permit,” he explained. – November 20, 2020.
