FOR the second straight day, Sarawak recorded only one Covid-19 case, the latest being a man who had complained of fever, cough, sore throat and headache since last Thursday.

The state disaster management committee said the victim from Kuching had sought treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital yesterday.

He was diagnosed as having severe acute respiratory infection and given the Covid-19 test.

The result was positive, the committee said.

The committee also said follow-up investigations showed the victim had come into contact with a known infected person last Sunday.

Today’s victim and the infected person are co-workers and both live in a company-provided dormitory.

As a sign of the improving situation in the state, the district of Lundu is now a green zone after recording no cases in the last 14 days.

With Lundu moving to green, Miri and Lawas districts in the northern part of the state are the only two districts left in the yellow zone.

Kuching, with 101 infections, is still classified as a red zone while 37 of the state’s 40 districts are green zones. – November 17, 2020.
