95,161 find work via MyFutureJobs


More than 95,000 applicants nationwide have found employment via the portal MYFutureJobs, according to government data. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, November 9, 2020.

A TOTAL of 95,161 applicants nationwide succeeded in obtaining employment via the portal MYFutureJobs, said Deputy Human Resource Minister Awang Hashim.

He said of the total, 44,940 applications were aged between 20 and 29.

“To enable graduates to find employment, the government has ordered Socso to hold the Penjana Career Carnival in the various states

“As of October 30, 229 Penjana Career Carnivals involving 541 employers have successfully placed 4,060 graduates and other job seekers,” he said in reply to a question from Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (PH-Pandan) in Dewan Rakyat today.

Dr Wan Azizah wanted to know what the government was doing to address the problem of employment opportunities for fresh graduates as well as laid-off workers amid an economic recession.

Awang said the government is looking at various employment opportunities which could be created to offer them to fresh graduates and workers who were retrenched due to the economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said various programmes and initiatives are being carried out to improve the national young manpower ecosystem and the development of marketability programme.

According to him, among the initiatives  and programmes implemented are Structured Internship, Nurturing Expert Talent, Scholarship Talent Attraction & Retention, and Young Employable Students.

Two sessions of industry-academia collaboration were held by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (Medical Industry) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (General Study),  National Dual Training System, Employment Recruitment  Incentives Programme, mobility aid and training programmes under the National Economic Recovery Plan. – Bernama, November 9, 2020.
