THE Youth and Sports Ministry is leading the development of a single-landing page and one-stop centre called the MyBelia System to enable the access of all youth-based government initiatives.

Its minister, Reezal Merican Naina Merican, said the system will provide integrated information on government and private initiatives for the benefit of youth, including employment opportunities.

“The ministry is committed to assisting and complementing initiatives to help youth who are doing business,” he said in reply to a question from Johari Abdul (PH-Sg Petani), who wanted to know how the ministry was assisting young people impacted by Covid-19.

WFH initiative

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry has conducted many programmes to assist families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its minister, Rina Harun, said these include the “parenting at work” programme, as many couples now work from home.

“Besides that, we also conduct programmes on generating the economy. We have also conducted many online courses, including on early childhood education,” she said.

Rina said this in reply to a supplementary question from Rohani Abdul Karim (GPS-Batang Lupar).

Blueprint-based programmes

ALL programmes implemented by the National Unity Ministry for the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra) are based on the Malaysian Indian Blueprint (MIB), said its minister, Halimah Mohamed Sadique.

“We have a blueprint for the Indian community, including under human capital, entrepreneurship and others. We have the MIB and all planning concerning Mitra will be based on the blueprint.

“I would like to apologise because allocations under Mitra are only for the Malaysian-Indian community,” she said in reply to a supplementary question from Bung Moktar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan), who wanted to know the impact of programmes and allocations for Mitra and whether there are allocations for other races.

Neighbourhood watch

The National Unity Ministry aims to form another 3,000 Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) and 5,941 Voluntary Patrol Scheme (SRS) units next year.

Its minister, Halimah Mohamed Sadique, said as last month, 8,274 KRT and 5,333 SRS units have been formed nationwide.

“The implementation of the One KRT One SRS policy will result in the formation of 11,274 KRT and 11,474 SRS (next year). The initiative to attract participation and implementation of the KRT community work module will be carried out next year with our strategic partners, comprising ministries, agencies and others,” she said.

Halimah was responding to a question from Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub (BN-Machang). – Bernama, November 2, 2020.
