More than half of today’s 799 Covid-19 cases in Sabah

SABAH accounted for more than half of the 799 new  Covid-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours.

Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today that the state reported 466 or 58.3% of the cases in the past 24 hours.

He attributed this to more targeted testing in Sabah.

The state also reported three deaths which brought the national death toll to 249.

The new daily cases have brought the national caseload to 30,889.

Health authorities have also discovered eight new clusters of infections, while the number of  active cases rose  to 10,392 from 10,087.

Meanwhile, 491 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 20,248.

Ninety patients are in intensive care, with 20 needing breathing support.

All cases reported today were local transmissions.

Prison clusters contributed 29 cases.

The Klang Valley had 170 cases.

Labuan (65), Penang (35), Johor (9), Negeri Sembilan (23), Putrajaya (1), Kedah (5), Perak (10), Sarawak (16) and Negri Sembilan (23) were among the states which reported new cases. – October 30, 2020.
