Health Ministry expects more funds in Budget 2021

THE Health Ministry is expecting higher allocations in the upcoming Budget 2021, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Noor Hisham said with more allocations, the ministry would be able to provide the best healthcare to the public. 

“The ministry hopes more funds can be allocated for the ministry, so that we can give Malaysians the best health services.

“We look at infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases. So, we are looking at the establishment of infectious disease hospitals,” he said in a press conference at Putrajaya today. 

Noor Hisham said with extra funds, the ministry would be able to send healthcare workers and experts for more training and courses.

He added that the ministry would be able to put in more medicine for hospitals with the extra budget.

The next and final sitting in the Dewan Rakyat, which will convene on November 2, will focus on the Budget 2021.

The budget is scheduled to be tabled on November 6, with debates starting on November 9. The vote for second reading is scheduled for December 10. – October 28, 2020.
