PUTRAJAYA has extended the conditional movement-control order (CMCO) in Labuan from October 31 to November 13 as Covid-19 cases continue to rise.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Health Ministry is still conducting targeted screening in the area.

“Prior to this, Labuan was under CMCO from October 17 to October 30. To date, there are still positive cases in the area and targeted screening is still being done.

“Therefore, the government has decided to extend the CMCO in Labuan for another two weeks.”

On October 15, Ismail Sabri had announced that Labuan will be placed under CMCO for two weeks following a spike in Covid-19 cases.

Labuan follows Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, which are all currently under CMCO.

As for air movement through Labuan Airport, he said individuals must obtain police permission to travel.

On water movement, he said water transport services such as RoRo ferries, express ferries and speedboats are allowed to operate until 6pm with a limited capacity based on social distancing between passengers.

On shipping industry operations, Ismail Sabri said movements for sign-on and sign-off of crew members, as well as oil and gas activities, are allowed to operate in accordance with rules and SOPs in force. – October 28, 2020.
