LAWYERS for M. Indira Gandhi will be filing a RM100 million civil suit against Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador for failing to locate her missing daughter Prasana Diksa.

Indira Gandhi Action Team chairman Arun Doraisamy said law firm Raj and Sach will be filing the suit at the Kuala Lumpur High Court by the end of the week.

“The civil suit will be filed this week, either on Wednesday or Thursday.

“We have given the IGP (Hamid) ample time to get Prasana back.

“We have exhausted all avenues, so we are going ahead with the suit,” Arun told The Malaysian Insight.

Prasana, now 12, was snatched by Indira’s former husband, Muhammad Riduan Abdullah, when she was a baby.

The Ipoh High Court had ordered Riduan, a Muslim convert, to return Prasana in 2014 but he failed to comply with the order, leading to a court-issued arrest warrant.

Indira said they will be going ahead with the suit and a 350km walk for justice.

“IGP has been making empty promises. We just want to know where Prasana is.  

“The lawyers are ready with the documents (for civil action).”

She also said it is not that they want to sue, but there was nothing else they could do as they have yet to get any answers on Prasana’s whereabouts.

In a last attempt for justice, Indira will walk 350km from northern Peninsular Malaysia to Putrajaya, to demand justice after having exhausted all avenues to get her daughter.

She will be going on a 12-day trek starting on November 21 from Sg Petani, Kedah, to Putrajaya to deliver a letter to the prime minister.

Arun said since early this year, they have been seeking a meeting with Hamid but they have now given up on him as he does not seem genuine in wanting to meet them.

Riduan made off with Prasana after he unilaterally converted the couple’s three children to Islam. He is now in defiance of a court order to return the child to her mother.

The court granted Indira custody of her three children after finding their conversion to be unlawful. – October 27, 2020.
