THE conditional movement-control order (CMCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya, which was set to end tomorrow, has been extended to November 9, Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.

Nilai in Negri Sembilan is also being placed under CMCO from October 28 till November 10 following a rise in Covid-19 cases in the district.

The senior minister said the decision to extend the order by a further two weeks was based on the recommendation of the Health Ministry.

Based on the Health Ministry’s risk analysis, areas within the Klang Valley, Selangor and Putrajaya  are still deemed at high risk for the spread of Covid-19, Ismail Sabri said, adding all standard operating procedures (SOPs) that came into effect on October 14 remain.

On a related note, Ismail Sabri said the police can act against individuals who misuse the letter of authority from their company to run personal errands or travel on weekends.

Meanwhile, the National Security Council decided to enforce the CMCO in Nilai following a spike in infections among foreigners there.

The same SOPs applicable to other areas under CMCO will apply to Nilai as well.

However, Putra Point in Nilai will be placed under an enhanced MCO as the locality, where two workers hostels are located, saw a notable number of positive cases.

The EMCO will be enforced from October 28 until November 10.

In Sabah, the EMCO for Taman Khazanah Indah and Pangsapuri Mutiara Kasih in Lahad Datu and Felda Umas, Kalabakan, which was supposed to end today, was also extended to November 9, following a spike in infections.

As for Taman Mesra and Taman Mawar in Sandakan, Sabah, the EMCO set to end on October 28 was also extended two weeks to November 10. – October 26, 2020.
